Our Story
The Portland area is strong on livability. We’re not sure if it’s Mt. Hood, the nearby beaches, or Portland’s amazing work / life balance. Whatever it is, people are flocking to the Rose City in droves and there's no hurry to leave. That's good news for us as local connectors! Ever since Diane Boly and Pat Welch opened the doors in ’86, we’ve been making connections with the area’s best employers and talent. We’ve developed deep relationships that continue to grow with years of successful placements - just the sort of thing that helps us find the right fit, be it in Accounting, Legal, Office, Human Resources, Information Technology or Marketing positions. For over 20 years, whether it’s Temporary or Direct-Hire, matching personalities and goals has mattered to us just as much as qualifications and experience. Apparently this is a sentiment that connects with many of our clients as well. Partnerships That Work Celebrating Community Connections 2006 marked a milestone for Boly:Welch - our 20-year anniversary as a successful Portland business. The foundations of that success stem from within the community where we live, work and prosper and we wanted to say ‘thank you’ to the organizations who daily build the connections so necessary for a healthy, vibrant and livable workplace. To celebrate the milestone, we developed a model for our community giving involving partnerships, volunteerism and financial giving. This program called Celebrating Community Connections passes along a portion of our billings to organizations that provide ongoing education and support for at-risk populations in the Portland / Vancouver metropolitan area. We hope that these organizations have benefited from the financial impact of our relationship, from volunteers in mentorship and committee roles, and through synergies with our clients and friends. Boly:Welch employees have embraced these partnerships and have grown from their expanded roles and involvement with these agencies. Over the two years since the program inception, we have run, bowled, and golfed in support of children and their families. As a member of the small business community we've learned that you don’t have to be big to have a big impact. Boly:Welch is also proud to work with a wide range of non-profit organizations in their efforts to identify top talent. We will extend a 25% discount on recruitment fees and mark-ups costs to any non-profit organization with whom we work. Partners Diane Boly and Pat Welch These dynamic businesswomen are both Certified Personnel Consultants, active in the staffing industry since ’75. Together they have built a creative recruiting firm that has always put fit first, even within their own company. Tenured consultants bring over 150 years of experience finding just the right fit between great jobs and top local talent! This is quite possibly why Boly:Welch has six times been voted one of the best places to work in Oregon by Oregon Business Magazine. Diane Boly is an avid cyclist, as happy on her bike riding tandem with her husband through the various mountain ranges of Europe as she is exploring new routes in the Portland Metro area. She is active in the community, as a past member of the Governor's Employer Advisory Council, with Chamber Music Northwest and a contributor to various organizations. Born in Portland and raised in Eastern Oregon, Boly is a proud U of O Duck! Pat Welch is an ardent film-freak, holding camp each year at the Telluride Film Festival. A Detroit native educated at Boston University, she has called Portland home for over 30 years. Pat focuses energy with family and friends, and spends time on the tennis courts, on the ski slopes and wields a strong hand at the poker table. She has been active in the community supporting various philanthropies and fundraising campaigns.
